What it is

Fuelnox is a fuel conditioner concentrate that suits every engine in a mixed store: petrol, diesel and two-stroke, at one ratio. One 10 ml capful treats 40 litres of fuel. It is poured into the filler or into the can, and the fuel spreads it through the system from there.

What it does

  • Cleans as the engine runs. Gum, varnish and carbon are released from the jets, the injector tips, the lines and the tank walls, and continued dosing keeps the next layer from establishing.
  • Takes up condensation. Air entering a part full tank brings moisture, which settles against the walls. Fuelnox sends it through the engine in droplets small enough to burn.
  • Keeps fuel usable. Treated fuel stays good through long gaps, which is what a mixed collection of engines needs most.
  • Lubricates. Pumps and injectors are lubricated only by the fuel moving through them, and Fuelnox contributes to that.

Easier starting is normally noticed first across a group of engines, then steadier idling and cleaner throttle response. None of it is new performance. The engines are getting back what the deposits had taken, over several tanks, and a cleaner system also smokes less.

How to use it

Two capfuls per 40 litres the first time you treat an engine, then one capful per 40 litres at every fill after that. A capful is 10 ml.

Small tanks are dosed through the can instead. Half a capful goes into a 20 litre can, a quarter into a 10 litre one, added as the can is filled. Everything filled from that can is covered.

A two-stroke mix is dosed into the fuel, not the oil. Mix fuel and oil as normal, then add Fuelnox to the finished mix.

Before an engine is put away for the season, use the double dose. Run it for a few minutes afterwards so the treated fuel reaches the carburettor or the injectors.

Use it on every fill rather than reserving it for storage. Deposits form gradually, and continuous presence is what the product is designed around.

What it is safe with

Petrol, diesel and two-stroke, covering E5, E10 and B7. Because one formulation serves all of them there is no risk of reaching for the wrong bottle.

Nothing in it attacks seals, hoses, carburettors, catalytic converters or diesel particulate filters, and old carburetted engines accept the identical ratio to current injection systems. The formulation is ashless, with no sulphur, phosphorus, nitrogen or metallic ingredients, which is what those parts react to.

Overdosing does no harm, which matters more at this size than any other: one bottle is shared, and different people are pouring it.

What it will not do

Its work is on the fuel. Engine repair is outside it, and wear that has already happened does not come back. A jet that has hardened shut remains shut, and a long neglected system is worked through in stages rather than cured in a tankful.

Standing water beneath the fuel must be drawn off first. Fuelnox acts on the water the fuel is carrying. A new layer is stopped from forming; one that has already settled has to be drained.

A capful per fill is the cheap part of keeping a group of engines running. Stripped carburettors, early filter changes and an engine waiting its turn on a bench are the expensive part.

This size

1 litre is 100 capfuls and treats 4,000 litres. It is the shared bottle: enough for a garage, a yard or a workshop to cover every engine for a year without reordering. It also stops the routine breaking down. A small bottle runs out part way through a season, and any engine skipped in the meantime goes back to building deposits. Where a fleet or a busy workshop draws from the same store, the 5 litre is the next step.
